With the new Skills & Competencies validation feature, managers can assess and validate the skills and competencies of their team members, providing actionable feedback and supporting ongoing development. This feature is toggleable, meaning administrators can enable or disable it based on the needs of their organisation.
Follow these steps to turn on the Skills & Competency Ratings:
Login as Admin: Log in to your Frankli account with admin credentials.
Navigate to Manage Features: https://app.frankli.io/admin/dashboard/features/manage
Go to 'Skill & Competency Rating': In the settings menu, scroll to "Skills & Competencies Rating".
Enable the Feature: Look for the toggle button labelled "Skills & Competency Ratings" and switch it to the "On" position.
Skills & Competencies features are separate toggles, make sure these are also toggled on.
Save Changes: Don’t forget to click "Save" at the bottom of the page to confirm your changes.
Once enabled, managers will be able to rate employee competencies and skills directly from their profiles. You can always disable this feature by following the same steps and switching the toggle to "Off."
How to Customize the Rating Scale
Frankli’s new feature allows admins to customise the competency and skills rating scale to fit their organisation's specific needs. You can adjust the terminology and scale length to align with your performance evaluation strategy.
Here's how to customise the scale:
Login as Admin: Log into your Frankli account as an administrator.
Navigate to Company/Other: https://app.frankli.io/admin/dashboard/company/other
Go to 'Skills Rating Scale' or 'Competency Rating Scale': Under the "Skills or Competencies" section.
Choose Rating Scale: Click "Show Templates"
5-Point Scale: Offers a comprehensive evaluation from "Not Demonstrated" to "Expert."
4-Point Scale: A simplified scale excluding the "Basic Understanding" level for a more concise rating.
3-Point Scale: The most streamlined, offering three levels of rating from "Developing" to "Expert."
Adjust Terminology: First select whether you want to use a 5, 4 or 3-part scale, the wording can be edited later. You can update the terms used for "Competencies" and "Skills" "Name" & "Description" by simply clicking into the relevant field & updating the wording to better align with your organisation's language.
Save Changes: After customising your settings, click "Save" to apply the new rating scale and terminology.
Customising your scale will allow for more tailored feedback, making it easier for managers and employees to understand performance expectations.
How to Rate Competencies & Skills
Managers can now rate employees' competencies and skills based on their performance in day-to-day roles. Here's how to rate a team member's skills and competencies:
Log in as Manager: Log into your Frankli account as a manager.
Navigate to Employee Profile: Go to the "People" tab and select the employee you want to evaluate.
Access the Skills & Competencies Section: On the employee’s profile, you will see the "Skills & Competencies" section.
Rate Competencies & Skills:
Select a competency or skill from the list.
Click on the Skill or Competency to apply the rating scale to assess the employee’s proficiency in that competency, ranging from 1 (Not Demonstrated) to 5 (Expert), depending on the scale enabled for your organisation.
Optionally, add comments and specific examples to provide context for your rating. This can help employees understand the reasoning behind the score and guide their development.
Save the Rating:
After completing your ratings and comments, click "Save" to update the employee's profile with your feedback.
These ratings, along with any feedback or development plans, will be visible to employees and can be used to track their ongoing growth and performance.
