Goal setting in Frankli is designed to be inclusive and transparent.
We've built our goal setting on the Objective Key Result (OKR) framework.
A goal can have multiple goal owners assigned.
A personal goal can either be public or private.
Team goals can either be public or private.
All Site and Department level goals are public to view and access for all your people in Frankli.
Company level goals can be either public or private.
Only a 'Goal Admin' can create Company level goals and must be configured by an Administrator of Frankli in your company.
Where do I start?
Navigate to 'Goals' in your sidebar.
Then you will be presented with a number of different tabs, each representing different views of goals within your company.
Here's a breakdown of the views:
This view represents all goal types (personal, department, company) for which you are a goal owner. The default view to load is 'Active' goals. You have the ability to filter this view by (Active, Completed, Archived, All).
This view represents any personal goals that you have created. Personal goals can be either Public or Private. Public will be displayed on your personal profile page and visible to anyone in your company. Private can only be seen by you, your direct manager and the Goal Admin. Personal goals can include anyone else in the company as a goal owner. Personal goals can be aligned to an active team, department, site or company level goal.
Personal goals in Frankli take on two forms.
1. Personal Operational
This goal type is for capturing goals that account for your direct contribution to your wider team and company efforts.
2. Personal Developmental
This goal type is much more focused on capturing your development needs.
This goal type is for capturing the efforts of a team on a larger scale than a personal goal but not quite the scale of a site or department goal.
Some important points on team goals:
Team goals can be 'Public' or 'Private'.
All 'Public' team goals can be viewed from the 'Team Goals' tab.
Your personal 'Private' team goals can be viewed from the 'My Goals' tab.
Any team goal can be aligned to an active site, department or company goal.
This goal type is linked to the office location of your people. Site goals give you the flexibility to group goal across people in different departments working in the same location. For example, if you have a number of people working out onsite for a customer they may have goals linked to that assignment. This goal type can be enabled and disabled via your admin dashboard.
Some important points on site goals:
All site goals must be 'Public' and as a result are visible to anyone in your company on Frankli.
You can easily filter by other sites (office locations) from this tab.
Any Site goal can be aligned to an active department or company goal.
This view will automatically load all active department goals for the department that you are in. As well as 'Active' you can also filter by (Completed, Archived, All).
Some important points on department goals:
All Department goals must be 'Public' and as a result are visible to anyone in your company on Frankli.
You can easily filter by other departments from this tab.
Any department goal can be aligned to an active site or company goal.
This view of goals represents the top level goals within your company and are publicly visible to anyone in your company on Frankli. Company goals can only be created by a defined role in Frankli called a 'Goal Admin'.
A Goal Admin can make anyone a goal owner of a Company goal.
When it comes to deleting goals, if you delete a goal while another goal is aligned to it, the alignment will be removed.
